You don't have to remove the stove on the Matiz very often. Usually, this action is carried out if a radiator leak is detected, or the fan has broken. But cleaning the air ducts is also associated with dismantling the heater.
In the summer, few people think about the stove, usually only in the winter everyone remembers about it. In the hot season, it is not uncommon for motorists to simply turn off the radiator so that there is no leakage. But, of course, it is better to carry out a full-fledged repair in comfortable conditions, and not in a ten-degree frost. If a leak is found, then you need to immediately start repairs, you should not postpone until tomorrow.
As in most modern cars, the Matiz stove consists of a main unit, in which a radiator, a fan and several partitions are installed. Air ducts run from the main unit to the driver, front passenger and rear passengers' feet. Removing the stove is a rather laborious process, since it is necessary to dismantle the dashboard and the entire lining of the parprise, turn off all control buttons.
Removing the heater radiator
The first thing to do is drain antifreeze or antifreeze from the cooling system. When draining, you need to open the stove tap so that the liquid completely leaves the heater radiator. The next step is to disconnect the battery. After all, you will have to disconnect many wiring harnesses, so there is a high probability of short circuits.
Next, remove the entire lining from the dashboard, disconnect the elements that interfere with you and put them aside so as not to damage them during the repair process. Now open the hood and disconnect the two pipes from the cooling system to the passenger compartment. The partition installed in the body must freely go into the passenger compartment. To do this, you just need to put pressure on it.
In the process of work, the ECU will interfere with you, so it is best to move it to the side. You do not need to disconnect the wires from it, the main thing for you is to allocate a little space for convenience. Then remove the brackets from the heater and unscrew the four mounting bolts. Now you can take out the entire volute, disconnect the fasteners of the pipes and replace the radiator. Its installation is carried out in the reverse order. Be careful to connect all connectors correctly.
Getting rid of plugs in the cooling system
Now that everything is assembled, you need to connect the battery and pour antifreeze into the system. Note that the stove tap must be open when refueling to fill the radiator with fluid. Fill the antifreeze to the required level and tighten the lid on the tank. Now we start the engine and warm it up. As the temperature rises, the level of antifreeze will decrease.
Add fluid to the reservoir if necessary. The cooling system is sealed and operates under pressure. Therefore, it is enough to let the engine warm up and run at a temperature of about 90 degrees. All air jams will go away after 5-7 minutes of operation. For greater fidelity, you can squeeze the pipes with your hands (just wear gloves). This will allow you to expel all the air even faster.
