In time immemorial, an intelligent man said that a cart was prepared in winter, and a sled in summer. With regard to our time, one can paraphrase popular wisdom and conclude that the car must be prepared for winter operation by the end of the warm season of the year.
It is necessary
- - winter oils,
- - hydrometer,
- - ether.
Instructions
Step 1
To facilitate the morning start of the power plant of the car with the arrival of cold weather, it is necessary to change the lubricant in the engine and in the gearbox in advance by filling the crankcases of these units with oils of low viscosity and intended for operation in winter.
Step 2
Along with the above measures, the density of the electrolyte in the battery is also checked. If necessary, it is brought by the charger to the norm equal to 1.27 on the hydrometer scale.
Step 3
In cases where the density of the electrolyte cannot be restored, the battery needs to be replaced with a new one.
Step 4
As a rule, problems with starting the engine begin when the ambient temperature drops to -20 degrees. The mistake of most drivers in such conditions is that they begin to rotate the flywheel of the engine with the starter without prior preparation.
Step 5
An experienced owner will first turn on the dipped headlights for a few minutes before attempting to start the engine. Creating a load in the car's electrical network will heat up the electrolyte in the battery, which will lead to an increase in its density.
Step 6
Then the ignition is switched on several times in order for the fuel pump to fill the fuel line as much as possible. And only then the first attempt to start the engine is carried out. If at this moment the motor does not show signs of "life", then the rubber band of the air pipe is pierced with a medical syringe, as close as possible to the throttle assembly, and one cube of ether is introduced there. After which the engine will certainly start.
Step 7
You should not get carried away with ether when starting the power plant. Its overdose is very dangerous and can damage the motor. Therefore, it should be used only in desperate situations, when all attempts to "revive" the engine have not been crowned with success.
