In winter, after a cold night, a motorist runs the risk of not starting the engine on a frosty morning. In order not to have to go to work by public transport, you need to pay attention to several important points.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting the engine, turn on the high beam (or low beam for twenty to thirty seconds) for ten to fifteen seconds. This will load the battery, warm the electrolyte, and increase the current delivered by the battery.
Step 2
Turn off all electrical appliances. Switch on the ignition. Wait until the fuel pump creates the required pressure in the rail. Switch off the ignition. Turn on again. After the fuel pump has finished working on cars with a manual gearbox, depress the clutch and turn on the starter.
Step 3
Wait three to four turns of the starter. This will slightly accelerate the crankcase oil. After three to four turns of the starter, turn it off. Wait about half a minute. Engage the starter again for five to six seconds. If the engine "troit", or runs on two cylinders, help it turn with the starter a little longer.
Step 4
Do not release the clutch for a while after starting the engine. Let the engine run smoothly with the transmission disengaged. At this time, use the gear lever to engage all speeds. This will slightly disperse the thick oil of the cold box.
After two to three minutes of warming up the engine, release the clutch smoothly. RPM will drop, as the cold thickened oil in the box will put a heavy load on the engine. Do not let the engine stall by releasing the clutch again when the rpm drops sharply.
