Replacing the engine control unit is considered a slightly more complicated way. The fact is that the same engine is available in different power options. The 1.6L engine for different countries can have 85 HP, 105 HP. or 125 hp The 2.0 liter engine for Russia has a power of 150 HP, for Turkey - 163 HP, for the USA - 175 HP. The EcoBoost engine is offered for Russia in 200 hp version, for America - 240 hp. Replacing the control unit can entail such consequences as increased fuel consumption, the need to use a higher octane gasoline, the engine may stop starting in winter.
Installing an air filter of zero resistance, a polished intake manifold, and a direct-flow exhaust system on the engine gives a 15% increase in power, without compromising the efficiency and other indicators of the engine at all. Serious tuning
A more serious intervention is the installation of a sports camshaft. Changing the valve timing allows you to squeeze more horsepower out of the Ford engine, and most importantly, to change the power peak towards higher rpm, and the torque peak towards lower ones. In motorsport, it is considered important to have high power at high revs to achieve higher speeds and torque at low rpm to accelerate better.
