There is a trunk in almost every car, and in most cases it can be opened either from the alarm panel or using a special key inserted into the trunk lock. Under normal circumstances, motorists usually have no problems opening the luggage compartment - the system works reliably and without interruptions.
But sometimes force majeure situations arise in which it is not possible to open the trunk in the usual way. For example, the battery may fail, or the lock in the trunk fails (and this can happen directly on the road, when there is no way to go to a car service or at least drive the car into the garage). In this case, car owners often have to go to the most extreme measures just to somehow open the trunk.
- For example, if you accidentally misadjusted the trunk lock, and it does not open with a key or alarm fob, you can try to solve the problem using the simplest available means. To do this, you need to lower the back of the rear seat, take a long stick or handle and wrap a large, strong screwdriver around it. You can fix the screwdriver on a stick using usually insulating tape, a roll of which can almost always be found in the glove compartment of almost any car. Now you need to push this whole structure from the passenger compartment into the trunk and press the trunk opening lever with a screwdriver. It is not difficult to find it - in the upper part of the lock there is a small opening, into which you need to push a screwdriver and press it harder - the trunk in most cases will easily open almost immediately.
- If the lock in the trunk is working properly, but does not respond well, you can use a penetrating lubricant (for example, WD40), which is sold in almost every car dealership. The lubricant must be injected into the hole of the lock through a special nozzle, which is sold with the bottle. After making sure that the grease has got into the lock, you need to wait 5-10 minutes, after which you can try to open the lock with the key. Most likely, he will not give in right away, so be prepared for the fact that you will have to sweat for five minutes. But sooner or later your efforts will be crowned with success and the trunk will open.
- The most expensive and time consuming method is to remove the rear window. This method is used when you have no other way to get into the car and open the trunk from the inside. The method involves removing the seal and the subsequent dismantling of the rear window of the car.
