One of the minor, but frequent and annoying car breakdowns is the failure of the trunk lock. However, despite the broken lock, you can still open the trunk in several ways of varying complexity.
Necessary
- - awl;
- - screwdriver;
- - torch.
Instructions
Step 1
Get outside help. A broken trunk lock will be easily and quickly opened for you in any car repair shop. If you do not have time to visit a car service, you can ask a traffic police officer for help. Traffic police officers are specially trained to solve such problems, in addition, they must have all the tools necessary in this situation.
Step 2
Hit your hand sharply just above the license plate. On some models, hitting the boot lid just above the lock. From the impact, the jammed locking mechanism will start to move, and you can open the lock with a key. Hit hard, but not too hard, so as not to leave marks on the trunk lid.
Step 3
Take an awl or thin screwdriver. A pointed hairpin from a woman's hairstyle will do. Use a tool to pierce the boot gum directly under the lock. Feel the hook of the locking device and press it - the lock will open. This method is suitable for most old domestic cars and some foreign cars.
Step 4
Remove the back seat in the car. Now you can easily get into the luggage compartment. Remove all objects from there. Then take a flashlight, a screwdriver and try to open the lock from the inside. If you are unable to activate the jammed mechanism, or the keyhole is occupied by a broken key, you can simply disassemble the lock and open the trunk lid.
Step 5
Remove the rear window of the car. This is the most time consuming and time consuming way to get into a broken trunk. It should only be used if you are far out of town and you have no other way to get into a locked car. Carefully remove the glass edge seal and remove it from the machine. If the glass does not lend itself, then you will have to break it and thus get into the salon, from where you can open the trunk, after removing the rear seat.
