Installing the ignition on an Audi 100 is not an easy task. But this does not mean at all that if it is necessary to perform this procedure, you should immediately contact the service station. Almost any car enthusiast can perform all the actions on his own.
Instructions
Step 1
In the listed sequence, disconnect on the battery: the negative terminal, then from the distributor cover the high-voltage wires, the vacuum hose and the sensor connector block from the vacuum of the corrector.
Step 2
Install the crankshaft at the top dead center of the piston of the 1st cylinder. Then remove the holder by unscrewing the bolts of its fastening. After that, carefully remove the ignition distributor by pulling it up and remove the gasket.
Step 3
In case you do not remember the position of the distributor, set the crankshaft at the top dead center of the piston of the first cylinder, which corresponds to the compression stroke. Then remove the distributor cap and turn the slider so that the mark on the distributor body is sure to coincide with the contact center of the slider.
Step 4
Insert the distributor into the hole in the cylinder block and turn it slightly clockwise. Make sure that the distributor drive gear engages in order to ensure that the distributor snaps into place and that the slider is aligned with the mark again. The last step in this step will be to tighten the ignition distributor bolts.
Step 5
Install the ignition distributor in the reverse order, having previously replaced the gasket. Please note that the gasket must be changed. This is necessary in order to achieve the maximum fit of the parts. After that, you just have to adjust the installed ignition.
