The rapid increase in the number of cars on the country's roads leads to an increase in road accidents, many of which involve pedestrians. In order not to be under the wheels of a car, it is necessary not only to observe the rules of the road, but also to correctly assess the current situation.
Instructions
Step 1
Walk on footpaths or sidewalks, and if they are not there, on the left side of the road towards the moving traffic. If you are riding a bicycle, moped or motorcycle, follow the direction of the traffic.
Step 2
If you are walking on the side of the road or the edge of the carriageway in poor visibility conditions or at night, carry reflective items with you. These elements must be clearly visible to vehicle drivers.
Step 3
Cross the carriageway only along pedestrian crossings - overground and underground, and in their absence - along the line of shoulders or sidewalks at intersections. If there is no crossing or intersection, cross the roadway at right angles to the carriageway. Select areas without fences and dividing strips where the road is clearly visible in both directions.
Step 4
Where traffic is regulated, be guided by signals from a pedestrian traffic light or a traffic controller. If there is only a traffic light, be guided by it.
Step 5
On unregulated pedestrian crossings, enter the carriageway only after assessing the distance to approaching vehicles and their speed, making sure that the crossing will be safe for you.
Step 6
Do not leave behind a stationary vehicle that limits your view without making sure the road is clear. Remember that buses and trolleybuses must be bypassed in the back and trams in the front.
Step 7
Once out on the road, do not linger or stop if this is not related to ensuring your safety. Not having time to complete the transition, stop at the line dividing traffic flows in opposite directions. Continue the crossing, making sure it is safe to continue.
Step 8
Make way for cars with flashing lights on. If you are at this moment on the roadway, hurry to free it.
Step 9
Expect buses and taxis at designated landing sites, or, if not available, on the sidewalk or sidewalk. Get on the road to board the bus only after it has stopped.
Step 10
Keep in mind that not all drivers follow traffic rules. When crossing the road at a permissive traffic light, be sure to make sure that the cars stop and you do not run the risk of getting run over. On a one-way road, it will not be superfluous to look in the opposite direction. Such foresight will save you a lot of trouble.
