Unfortunately, pedestrians are increasingly becoming victims of road traffic accidents. This is due to the increased number of cars on the roads, and with the poor condition of roads in Russia, and with non-observance of traffic rules by both motorists and pedestrians. To protect yourself as much as possible from unpleasant incidents, you must not only observe traffic rules, but also be extremely attentive and careful.

Instructions

Step 1

As corny as it sounds, obey the rules of the road. Drive along roads only on sidewalks. If there is no sidewalk - along the sides, if there is no sidewalk - along the edge of the carriageway towards the traffic.

Step 2

Cross the street at a pedestrian crossing, underground or ground crossing at a green traffic light. If there is no pedestrian crossing, cross the carriageway, having a good assessment of the speed of the vehicles and the distance to them. When crossing a two-way road, follow the rule: first, looking to the left, cross half of the road and stop at the dividing strip. Then, looking to the right, complete the transition.

Step 3

When crossing the street on a regulated pedestrian crossing, make sure that cars let you pass. Move evenly, don't run. Otherwise, your appearance may be unexpected for drivers completing the turn, who must let you pass.

Step 4

The greatest danger is posed by unregulated pedestrian crossings, where there is only a zebra. Even sometimes the zebra is almost erased and barely visible. In addition, drivers are not very accustomed to letting pedestrians pass. In a busy place, it is better not to use such a passage, but to look for another one with a traffic light.

Step 5

If this is not possible, be as careful as possible. Make sure drivers are ready to let you through. You can show your willingness to make the transition with a gesture. Often a car from the right lane stops, a pedestrian starts crossing, and in the left lane he is hit by a car, for whose driver he was invisible. Therefore, after crossing one lane, make sure that the vehicle in the adjacent lane is also giving you way.

Step 6

If your daily route takes you through busy and dangerous places, wear bright clothing, preferably red or orange, with reflective details.

Step 7

Do not cross the suburban road in places where the ascent ends. Remember that drivers who go uphill cannot see you.

Step 8

Once in a critical situation, try to pull yourself together and act consciously and decisively. The actions of a person rushing in panic are difficult to predict for a driver who is trying to avoid a collision.
