Someone is forced to wash a car by necessity, and someone is driven by love for cleanliness. But it's one thing in summer, when this activity is comfortable enough, and another thing in winter and in frost. In general, there is a misconception that in winter, dirt protects the car from the chemicals that are used to treat our roads. This is not so - the dirt mixed with these very reagents spoils the car even more than any factors affecting it in the summer. What to do? Contact a car wash? It is not a fact that you will get rid of the problems associated with freezing door locks and other unpleasant consequences. It is quite possible to perform this operation independently, with a longer and more pleasant effect.
Necessary
- - dry rags;
- - 3-4 buckets of warm water;
- - detergents and water-repellants for the car;
- - simple stationery tape.
Instructions
Step 1
Do the preparatory work first. Remove the rugs and everything underneath to remove excess moisture in the cabin (newspapers, cardboard, etc.).
Step 2
Wash the salon. It is often enough to simply vacuum it up and treat the plastic parts with car polishes.
Step 3
Seal the car door locks with regular stationery tape.
Step 4
Then start washing the car body. Douse the car with two or three buckets of water. In no case should the water be hot (so that the varnish does not crack) and it should not be cold (so that the machine does not turn into a block of ice). Wait a minute for the dirt on the body to get wet. When doing this, pay special attention to ensure that water does not flood the radiator of your car. There are cases of its rupture in severe frost.
Step 5
Flush the body with car shampoos. After washing the car, there should be no drips of water anywhere. Wipe the body dry, treat the door hinges and lock cylinders with water-repellent polish. This simple procedure will allow you to keep your car clean for the entire winter period of operation. Naturally, if there are no abnormal natural phenomena (positive temperatures).
