Any driver has encountered the problem of freezing glass in a car at least once. And regularly car owners ask themselves the question: "Why are the glass covered with frost?" After all, this state of affairs may indicate a malfunction in the vehicle's sealing system. Which, in turn, can lead to breakdowns and failure of your car.
The reason why car windows freeze is one, and it is quite simple - high humidity. Moreover, this moisture is located inside the car. As soon as the air temperature starts to drop, the liquid changes its physical state, i.e. from fluid to solid. This is how ice forms on the glass. Therefore, in order to avoid trouble, you must thoroughly inspect your car.
First, check the floor under the car rugs. If the floor is damp, be sure to dry it. And then there will be no problems with glass. In case the floor is dry, look for another reason.
Secondly, check the supply of antifreeze. If it leaks somewhere, for example, from a stove, then the humidity in the car's interior immediately rises and the glass begins to freeze. Can't find the leak? Feel the glasses themselves. If they are sticky, it means 100% a leak in the heating system.
Also check the air conditioner for excess moisture in the car. It happens that its filters become clogged and air exchange is disrupted. This means that condensation in the car is also disturbed. Hence, freezing appears on the glass.
Another reason why car windows can freeze is that you wash your car too often at the car wash.
In the case when you are confused by the fact that the windows in the cabin freeze unevenly - from above a little slower than from below. This is due to the fact that cold air is denser than warm air. Therefore, it descends faster and begins to cool and freeze the glass from the bottom up.
If only the windshield freezes, then the reason may be as follows. This glass is tilted. Plus, it is additionally heated by the stove. This keeps the glass warm enough when you turn off the machine. Snow falls on it, melts, but does not really roll down because of the angle of inclination. Then, with decreasing temperature, it solidifies and forms an ice crust.
This problem can and should be fought. Moreover, there are a lot of ways how to cope with the freezing of glass.
