To restore the engine's performance, sometimes it is enough to disassemble and reassemble it, replace the wearing parts. As a result, you will receive an updated engine.

Necessary

  • - a set of keys and heads;
  • - rags;
  • - gasket set;
  • - oil seals;
  • - ramrod.
  • - marker.

Instructions

Step 1

If you hear a faint knock or even a whistle in the car, this is a sign that it's time to start repairing the engine. Remove the motor, clean it from dirt.

Step 2

Start disassembling the engine. At the same time, mark the order on the details with a marker, so that later everything is put in its place. First remove the generator, belt, pump.

Step 3

Then remove the cylinder head by unscrewing the nuts. Look at the sleeves: if they do not require replacement, secure them with nuts so that they do not move out of place.

Step 4

Next, remove the starter and the crankshaft hub. Turn the engine over and remove the oil pan.

Step 5

Check the gland, which is usually pressed into the bonnet. This part will need to be replaced if there is an oil leak.

Step 6

Check the camshaft play. It can swing back and forth a little, but there should be no backlash up and down. If the camshaft still goes up and down strongly, you will need to install shims.

Step 7

Check the crankshaft in the same way. If you notice significant play, change the thrust washers.

Step 8

Remove the crankshaft by unscrewing all nuts. By the way, wipe all fasteners with a rag. Then you can get out the pistons, which do not forget to mark so that later you do not confuse the installation location.

Step 9

Then remove the fuel pump, pushers, clutch housing, take out the oil sensors. Do not touch only the oil filter adapter.

Step 10

Clean the oil line with a cleaning rod.

Step 11

Having disassembled the motor, you should check the condition of all parts. This can be done as follows. Disassemble the cylinder block, and then pour some gasoline exactly in the place where the pistons are located. Leave everything as it is for one day if possible. After the specified time, inspect the pistons. If the gasoline in the valves has decreased, the inspection can be carried out further.

Step 12

Be sure to replace the cylinder block gaskets, clearances, fluids, connecting rod, main bearings and belts - everything must be carefully checked.

Step 13

Often, the pressure from the piston space is not fully released, which is why oil can be pressed from everywhere. Be sure to clean the breather system to avoid the build-up of shoe polish. To make the engine take less oil, it is worth stretching the sump, changing the caps.

Step 14

Having carefully examined the motor and its components, reassemble it in the reverse order - according to the marks on the parts.
