The speaker system is a special pride of the car owner, and everyone wants the sound to be at its best. Car radios rarely have sufficient power output, or are priced unacceptably high with good power. The best way out is to install an additional amplifier. Since the cost of installation often approaches the cost of the amplifier itself, you can save a lot by installing the amplifier yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, no matter how trite it may sound, carefully study the instructions for installing the amplifier. If connected or installed incorrectly, electronics of this class can be easily damaged.
Step 2
Then you need to choose the right place to install the device. There are several requirements for its placement: quick access, good ventilation, fastening strength, exclusion of the possibility of mechanical damage.
Step 3
Depending on the type of car body, the following places are preferable - under the car seat, in the trunk, on the rear shelf. The easiest and most effective way would be to install the amplifier under the rear shelf inside the trunk, while the amplifier will be well ventilated, and all the wiring will be hidden in the trunk.
Step 4
Disconnect the battery before starting work to avoid short circuits during installation.
Step 5
Then purchase and install a system power cable. At this stage, check the cross-section and type of cable from the documentation. If an unsuitable conductor is used, there may be problems in the operation of the amplifier, up to complete non-functionality.
Step 6
It is advisable to lay the cable along the shortest path, while avoiding tension or strong bends. After laying the cable, do not connect it to the terminals of the amplifier and the on-board network of the car until the installation work is completed, in order to avoid the damage of the amplifier.
Step 7
Install and connect the ground wire. Then connect the speaker cables to the speakers. Be sure to observe the polarity indicated on the speakers and amplifier when doing this. Route and connect the signal and control cable from the head unit.
Step 8
After completing the connection, double-check the correctness of the connection, the strength and reliability of grounding. Connect the car battery. Turn on the head unit and amplifier, check the operation of the speaker system.
