As for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, there are no particular difficulties in these matters. The complete disassembly of the engine takes much less time than gasoline counterparts. It is enough to dismantle: suction and exhaust manifolds, water and fuel pumps, generator, injectors, valve cover, timing camshafts and cylinder head.

Then the oil pan, crankshaft pulley and front cover are removed, after which the intermediate gears, clutch and flywheel are dismantled. At the final stage, the crank mechanism is disassembled.
Step 4
Troubleshooting of parts is carried out and a decision is made to purchase new spare parts for the subsequent assembly of the motor.

The key role in the diesel engine is played by the fuel system, which is adjusted once in a specialized workshop and then works flawlessly for several hundred thousand kilometers. It is enough to carry out its maintenance in a timely manner, which consists mainly in replacing the filter elements.

The Common Rail power system of modern high-tech motors is controlled by an electronic control unit. And if the owner wants to perform the appropriate tuning, then it is enough to connect a laptop or computer to the diagnostic connector of the car and, using special software, make changes to the ECU, which will make the car with a diesel engine more dynamic while driving.
