Car enthusiasts are not happy with the stable rise in gasoline prices, so many are beginning to think about switching their car to a cheaper type of fuel - gas? This question is overcome by beginners who initially doubt the vehicle on which type of fuel to buy.

Engine: gas or petrol?
Engine: gas or petrol?

A gas engine was created not only for large-sized cars, it is quite suitable for a passenger car, because any combustible mixture, in fact, will somehow make the engine work. This is especially attractive when comparing prices - gas is half the price of gasoline! A fair question arises, why, then, car owners do not switch to such an economical type of fuel, and the owners of gas stations have not yet gone bankrupt? Because every phenomenon has a downside, which is not always attractive. Before switching the car to gas, it is worth considering two parameters: economic and technical. The first aspect is easy to calculate using a conventional calculator, you just need to know a few basic numbers. For example, a car consumes 12 liters of fuel for every 100 km, this is the average for a car with a 1.6 liter engine. At the cost of 92-th gasoline 20 rubles per liter for gas will have to pay 10. Study the prices in the region for LPG, which are individual for each car, together with the installation. Alternatively, 10,000 rubles. Now calculate the average annual mileage, let's say 30,000 km. Now make the calculations: 30,000/100 x 12 = 3,600 liters of gasoline, which, with an initial cost of 20 rubles per liter, will total 72,000 rubles. Gas consumption for the same mileage will be 36,000 rubles, that is, two times less. The octane number of the gas is 103-105, which almost completely excludes detonation and the negative phenomena caused by it. Due to the better mixing of gas with air and the fact that the gas mixture is more evenly distributed throughout the cylinder, the idling of the engine is improved, it runs quieter and softer. Gas does not dilute engine oil; when it is burned, almost half of CO is formed. However, every rig has drawbacks, and the gas engine is no exception. Gasoline has a higher calorific value. 1, 19 liters of gas is equivalent to a liter of gasoline. Hence the greater fuel consumption. The gasoline engine is 5% more powerful. Inexpensive geared HBO, in addition to some optimal engine operation, constantly either slightly depletes or re-enriches the mixture. Such thermal overloads have to be experienced by spark plugs, valves and their seats in the cylinder head when driving with high overload, driving in mountainous terrain, so the gas is not for the riders. It is not possible to install a gas cylinder in every car due to its cumbersomeness: the more modern the car, the more expensive and more complicated the HE on it. While it is easy and inexpensive to install gas in an old carburetor vehicle, a modern computer-controlled injection engine requires controller flashing, inserting injectors and other difficult and expensive operations. Gas equipment is completely unsuitable for installation in small cars, with an annual mileage of less than 10,000 km. It is not recommended to install it on cars that are less than a year old, on cars with a diesel engine and, of course, if there are no gas stations in the village.
