Sooner or later, almost every car owner arranges a complete cleaning of the interior of his iron horse. Seat covers are in need of it the most. They need to be removed for better cleaning. And this is where the problem arises, since to remove the covers, you need to dismantle the head restraints of the front and rear seats. How can this be done?

Seat manual, car manual, screwdriver set
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, read the manual for your vehicle. It may indicate the mechanism for removing the head restraints if, after purchase from an authorized dealer, the standard seats have not been changed. It is also worth visiting the website of the VAZ company, where you can find all the manuals in electronic form. If you changed the standard seats, then you need to refer to the instructions that are usually included in the kit.
Step 2
First you need to understand what type of seats are in your car. They usually differ according to whether the headrest is detached or not. For example, front seats with non-removable upper parts are installed on the "classics". They are an extension of the chair. Most models are equipped with removable head restraints, which are held on two steel axles. To remove them, tilt the front seat back slightly. Lower the headrest as far down as possible. Now grab it with both hands at the sides. Slightly press the headrest towards you and pull up. It should pop out of the grooves with a characteristic sound.
Step 3
Open the back door. Look for the latch mount that holds the back seat. Open it and lower the seat back. Examine the back of the backrest. It may contain a mount that holds the axes of the headrest. If it is, then open it. If there is no such attachment, then lower the headrest as much as possible, pull it towards the trunk and quickly pull it up. If it does not come out, then try to push the axles out from the back. The headrest should come off with characteristic clicks.
