The headlights on Japanese cars are designed so that most of the light beam is directed up and to the left. Unfortunately, it is impossible to eliminate the problem with the usual headlight adjustment, as a result of which the transition to instrumental control is also impossible. In our country, driving with Japanese headlights is dangerous, because with such an adjustment, the headlights blind oncoming drivers.
Necessary
- - Scotch;
- - scissors;
- - headlights.
Instructions
Step 1
The main element that forms the light beam is a special shutter and lens. The headlamp is attached to the car body with 3 bolts and one clip, the bolts can be unscrewed with a screwdriver or wrench. The headlight attachment points are under the bumper, so it must be removed. The headlamp is opened by removing the front protective plastic blister. It is impossible to remove it without warming up. Therefore, use a building hair dryer, or slightly warm up the headlight in the oven.
Step 2
The headlamp cover is symmetrical to the optical axis. To close the sector shining into the oncoming lane, turn the curtain clockwise and then the sector of the headlight that looks at the roadside will be open.
Step 3
There is another way to solve the problem. Try to rotate the bulbs in the headlights around their axis. To do this, disassemble the headlight, the bulb is not fixed vertically, but with a slight turn. Turn the light bulb in the opposite direction at the same angle. It is fixed with antennae, which must be cut to a length of 0.5 cm with scissors. This length will be quite enough for the lamp to firmly hold on to the sides in the required position. The antennae may not be cut off, but then new holes are made in the side. This option is less reliable and more time consuming.
Step 4
By turning the lamp, the light beam on many Japanese headlights is corrected, but there are cars where the beam of light is directed by a pattern of reflectors, which cannot be corrected by turning. In this case, you can purchase headlights similar to these and simply replace them.
Step 5
The problem can be solved by gluing a part of the headlight with a matte film or black tape. Take scissors and tape, glue only the part of the light beam facing up and to the left on the headlamp.
Step 6
One of the more time consuming methods is to paint over the blinding area of the headlight with paint. To do this, take a dark paint and a thin brush, carefully push it into the hole for the lamp. You should work with a brush carefully, as you can permanently ruin the glass with paint.
Step 7
In order to determine at the end of the work whether the headlights are glued or painted correctly, park the car a few meters from the fence or wall, turn on the light. Blinds the left side of the beam, so the lower left corner of the headlight should be darkened.
