In fact, Datsun is just a Japanese brand. Datsun is owned by Nissan and produces low-budget cars. Commercials and posters actively advertise Datsun On-Do as a powerful Japanese foreign car, but this is just an advertisement. In fact, Datsun on-DO is nothing more than an improved Lada Granta.
A larger trunk has been added to the car, and the suspension has been improved. Also, the design has been worked out, richer equipment has been added and, of course, the cost of the car has been increased. The manufacturer Datsun on-DO is AvtoVAZ. Visually, one can notice a strong similarity between Grants and Datsun On-Do. Of course, these are not twin models, Datsun has its own differences, for example, headlights, bumper, radiator grill. There are also changes to the cabin, but they are minor and cheap. It is easy to confuse the two cars in the dark.
The thing is that the Renault-Nissan alliance owns AvtoVAZ. In order to meet the needs of different market segments and customers with different social status and financial capabilities, the company decides to produce almost the same car models under different brands and at different prices. Using the same technologies, it is easy to make several from one car brand, while slightly changing the outer and inner shell. This is evidenced not only by Datsun On-Do, but also by Lada Largus, which is a cheaper prototype of the Dacia Logan station wagon.
