The car is a means of increased danger. It has a braking system to avoid collisions. However, there are times when it can fail. In this case, the hand brake system comes to the rescue. Although not as effective, it can save your life under certain circumstances. It should be regularly monitored and maintained. Replace the parking brake cable immediately if any signs of malfunction appear.

Instructions
Step 1
Place the vehicle on a viewing ditch or lift. In the first case, securely fix the front wheels by placing stops-shoes under them. Remove the rear wheels and brake drums. Remove the left rear brake pad of the brake mechanism. Remove the tip of the handbrake drive cable from the drive lever and remove the brake shoe. In this case, the front brake pad does not need to be removed. Disassemble the right cable end in the same way.
Step 2
Take a 13 wrench and release the lock nut on the tip of the front cable. Then, keeping the latter from turning with pliers, unscrew the locknut and adjustment nut to its end. Take pliers by the hook, which is made on the coil of the spring and disconnect the retraction spring from the tip. Remove the locknut, adjusting nut, and spacer from it while keeping it from turning with pliers or pliers.
Step 3
Remove the guide from the tip and disconnect from the cable. Take the socket at 13 and unscrew the 2 fastening nuts that secure the left bracket to the body. Remove bracket and spring washers from studs. Remove the bracket from the cable.
Step 4
Take the cable and pull it back and disconnect it down from the body bracket. Take a 10 wrench and unscrew the 2 bolts that secure the tip to the brake shield. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake shield. In the same way, dismantle the right side of the cable and remove it from the car. Install the new cable in the reverse order.
Step 5
Install a stopper on the inner side of the cable sheathing to prevent it from breaking when rubbing against the lower longitudinal rod of the rear suspension. A rubber tube is suitable for this. Install the cable ends on both sides of the car into the body brackets. Attach the latter to the body. Adjust the parking brake actuator.
