Winter frost, sparkling snowflakes, bright blue sky. A real New Year's fairy tale. But those who are trying to start a car frozen over the night are not up to fun. The engine sneezes, the car won't start - what to do? How to start a car in cold weather and not be late for work, for a visit or for an important meeting?

Instructions
Step 1
Warm up the battery, which is a common cause of cold starting problems. To do this, turn on the high beam for twenty seconds - this will remove the load on the battery.
Step 2
Depress the clutch pedal when trying to start. This must be done in order not to force the starter to turn the disc and shaft in the frozen box. If the car starts, wait 60-70 seconds and only then release the clutch.
Step 3
Use the rule of two turns. To do this, insert the key into the lock, turn it once until the panel lamps light up, and wait a few seconds. This is done in order for the on-board electronics of a modern car to carry out diagnostics, as well as to turn on the gas pump. When this happens, you can trust the key and try to start.
Step 4
Take care of the starter. Don't twist it for too long. Ten seconds is enough, if the car does not start, try again.
Step 5
Do not jam the car. In the cold season, short trips for a car are not very useful. If you need to drive quite a bit, about five meters, it is better to just push the car. After a cold start, the engine must be warmed up before stopping it.
Step 6
Warm up the car. To stabilize the lubrication and fuel system, to minimize dry friction (when the oil has thickened and cannot cope with the work), you need to stand with the engine running for about three minutes. After that, you can start moving, but you must drive smoothly, do not accelerate sharply and make sure that the rpm is not too high until the engine temperature is working.
Step 7
For some time after a cold start, the car engine runs at increased revs. Very often this phenomenon scares novice drivers. However, do not take this fact as a breakdown, everything will return to normal in two to three minutes.
