Frost is difficult to endure not only for pedestrians, but also for motorists. Sometimes it is easier to walk in the cold than to start a frozen car. However, nothing is impossible, and if you follow some rules, starting the car in cold weather is not difficult at all.

Instructions

Step 1

To begin with, remember - any serviceable car will start even in the most severe frost. The only question is how to start it. First, check if all electrical consumers are turned off: stoves, headlights, radio tape recorder, etc.

Turn the engine slightly with the starter, but do not start immediately. This will ensure the oil supply you need after parking at night. Make your first attempt to start the engine. Depress the clutch pedal to make it easier to turn the crankshaft.

Step 2

After the first unsuccessful attempt, do not immediately try to start the car again. The battery and starter should take a break, and there is a high risk of flooding the spark plugs. Start a new attempt in 15-30 seconds. The engine will probably start now. Do not depress the gas pedal at once.

Step 3

If the start-up fails on the second try, try again with an interval of 30 seconds. Then move on to other, more strategic measures. Remove moisture, if present, from high voltage wires. You can use special sprays for this.

Step 4

Check if the battery is dead. If so, ask for a light. When you start the car from another, you create tension on the spark plugs and improve the formation of sparks, speed up the rotation of the engine by the starter.

Step 5

If it didn't work out to start the engine from the wires, there remains a way - with the help of a rope. You will need the help of another car owner. Agree to give a signal when the car starts - it's pointless to just go in tow. Start from second or third gear - this will make your car easier to haul. When the engine starts, using the gas pedal, do not let it stall again, depress the clutch, engage the gear. Only when you do these actions, honk and brake.

Step 6

When you want to start the car in cold weather, keep in mind that with the headlights on and when working on x / x, the battery practically does not charge. Its charging will begin only when the engine rpm exceeds 1200.
