To bleed car discs means to clean the brake discs from the air that has got into the system. This must be done in order to ensure that the brakes are effective. Ask a friend for help.
Necessary
- - brake fluid;
- - tube (silicone or rubber);
- - tank for used brake fluid;
- - a key for bleeding the brakes.
Instructions
Step 1
Drive the car into a viewing hole or lift as soon as you notice the first signs of uneven braking, and carefully inspect the entire brake system, including its piping. Also check for leaks on the inner wheel covers.
Step 2
Find and eliminate the cause due to which air enters directly into the hydraulic brake actuator. It just can't happen. After that, start bleeding the discs to remove air from them.
Step 3
Fill the hydraulic cylinder reservoir with brake fluid, completely filling it up to the plug. Go down to the inspection pit, and at this time, put the assistant in the car in the driver's seat. On the right rear wheel, find the fitting that bleeds the brake cylinder. After that, remove the protective cap, which is made of rubber, from the fitting, and then lower this part into a bottle or glass, after putting a tube or a special key on it.
Step 4
Ask an assistant to depress the brake pedal all the way and hold it with his foot in this position for as long as necessary. At this time, open the union and watch how the brake fluid flows out, which is squeezed out of it. This must be done to check for air in the brakes. The brake pedal should lower over time and when it comes down to the stop, the assistant should inform you about this. As soon as you receive information about this, close the union immediately. A friend must re-pump the brakes at this time. When the pedal rests, with a signal from the assistant, open the fitting to bleed.
Step 5
Repeat this procedure until all air has been removed from the cylinder. When you're done with the rear right cylinder, work on the rear left and then move on to the front. Last of all, bleed the vacuum brake booster.
