Only yesterday they pumped up the wheel, but today it has deflated again? Check if the nipple is ok. This is usually done by applying saliva to the nipple. If saliva does not bubble for a minute, the nipple is fine. This means that a puncture has occurred, and the wheel must be disassembled.
Step 2
Carefully, using only blunt tools, remove one side of the tire from the rim and pull the tube out. If the puncture is from a thick object, it is not difficult to find it. A nail or a sharp thorn sticking out in the tire and piercing the camera will also immediately prompt the place of the accident. It is more difficult with micro-punctures.
Step 3
To locate the micro-puncture site, replace the spool and inflate the chamber. If repairs are being made in the courtyard of your home, and there is a deep enough vessel with water, submerge the camera in water. Roll it slowly at a shallow depth. The puncture site will be marked with air bubbles coming out of the chamber into the water.
Step 4
Pinch the puncture site with your finger and remove the camera. Trace the area with chalk or a colored pencil, wiping off the moisture slightly, or immediately insert a sharpened chip into the hole. On an already dried chamber, then mark the place of the patch.
Step 5
Do not rush to put the sealed camera in place and wrap the wheel. Do, do not be lazy, the operation with the water bath again - there may be more than one puncture. Carefully check the inner surface of the tire - it is possible that the culprit of the puncture remained sticking out in it from the inside, invisible from the outside.
Step 6
It may happen that you have to repair the camera on the road, and there will be no water nearby. In this case, the puncture site can be determined by ear by placing the ear close. And if the air coming out of the chamber is very weak and silent, try to feel it. To do this, substitute your cheek or eyes under the intended stream. Smear the suspicious spot with saliva and see if bubbles form.
