In addition, modern car thresholds have an attractive appearance, which significantly decorates the car.

Car thresholds are divided into different types depending on their purpose. So, some thresholds are installed to protect the car in case of a road accident. Others are designed to make it easy to get in and out of the car. Some car owners set thresholds solely for the impressive and solid appearance of the car. However, they are all divided into only three types: power, protective and step thresholds.
Types of car thresholds
Power sills are heavy-duty steel structures attached directly to the vehicle frame by welding, bolts or large nuts. This mount allows you to withstand blows against hemp, curbs, other cars, and so on. Such thresholds perfectly protect the car body from minor accidents, damage when leaving an obstacle or approaching low fences.
The elementary version of the power sill is a powerful round or square tube attached to the vehicle frame.
Protective thresholds have a more attractive appearance, compared to power ones, however, they slightly fall short of them in terms of the degree of protection. Their protective properties are provided by the durable metal of their inner base, which will save the main threshold of the car from small obstacles, but will bring little benefit in case of serious accidents.
The step-step does not protect the car body at all - it is made of aluminum and installed to facilitate getting into the car for women, children and the elderly. Unlike power and protective car thresholds, the step threshold is intended solely to create an aesthetic and auxiliary effect. Its cost is much lower than the cost of metal thresholds - the main thing is to correctly calculate the width when choosing, so that the step does not turn out to be too narrow.
