Before starting training at a driving school, every future motorist must undergo a medical examination, consisting of several doctors. Based on the results of the examination and analysis, you will either be admitted to study, or you will be denied this.
There are already legends about the composition of doctors at the medical board for a driving school. Some believe that you need to go through an impressive list of specialists, including a urologist and a gynecologist, while others suggest that it is worth seeing only an ophthalmologist, psychiatrist and narcologist. In fact, many are mistaken. The driver's medical board includes a clear and long-established contingent of doctors, which must be passed.
What doctors are on the medical examination
The medical certificate, which is required for admission to a driving school, has the name 083 / y and includes the opinions of several doctors. You will need to go through a psychiatrist, psychiatrist-narcologist, therapist, ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, surgeon and neurologist. Also, in some regions, women need to get a gynecologist's opinion. You can go through all the doctors in one place (for example, sometimes driving schools hire a commission of several doctors who accept future drivers on the territory of a driving school) or visit specialists separately. The second method is quite lengthy, since bypass sheets are taken in polyclinics several times a week, and the opening hours are often inconvenient for working people and catastrophically small (2 or 3 hours on average for tens and hundreds of people).
Psychiatrists and a narcologist usually have to go to dispensaries (psychiatric and narcological, respectively). These doctors usually have long queues, and the appointment is always paid (from 250 to 1000 rubles in different regions of Russia). With some psychiatrists, you will have to undergo small tests and answer immodest questions, and the narcologist will require you to donate urine or blood for the presence or absence of prohibited substances. If earlier the waiting times for test results were 2-3 days, today you can be informed about them almost immediately.

Before going to doctors, do not forget to take 3x4 photos, which the secretary will attach to the certificate, and also paste them into your personal file. You will also need a passport and glasses / lenses (if you wear them). It is also necessary to have a valid fluorography, which was done during the last year. If you doubt that you will pass the driver's medical examination, it is better to do it before signing up for a driving school and paying for the lessons.
When passing doctors for medical certificate 083 / y, you need to be extremely careful and honest with specialists, since the data entered into the document will be carefully checked several times both in the driving school and in the traffic police.
