Step 2
Check the functional condition of the hooks and connectors for the same interference, there may also be malfunctions of the contact connections and fasteners of the wired part. Now look at the case itself, where the generator is located, which is responsible for the manifestation of the airbag operation - everything should be reliable and without damage. Try to align the airbag with the steering section of the vehicle. The deployment of the structure must match in an emergency. There should be no distortions.
Step 3
How to check if the pillows are installed on the car at all? There is a possibility that they have already worked once and the former owners did not bother to change them to a new version. It happens.
Step 4
New production vehicles have a special diagnostic connector. It allows you to diagnose the operation of the entire car, and the pillow in particular.
If this device is missing, diagnose with a regular paper clip from the office: find this diagnostic connector, usually it is located immediately under the steering column. Turn on the ignition of the car. Wait half a minute, and "short-circuit" the contacts under the numbers No. 4 and No. 13 of the connector. Now look at the dashboard. It can be seen that the lights are blinking.
Step 5
Some bulbs give out codes, for example, CheckEngine - engine is faulty, ABS - ABS malfunction, but if "Man with a pillow" is depicted - this is just a malfunction of the airbag system. In the absence of a code and a decent condition, the lights will start blinking at intervals of half a second.
If the light does not blink, the seller has wound something so that the buyer does not see the vehicle malfunction. Airbags that have already been deployed are often slipped in.
