Step 1
For the stove to work well, do not forget to change the dust filter, because during the season a lot of dust has time to accumulate in it. If replacing it is not part of your plans, then you can at least blow out the filter from the inside with compressed air. To do this, you can use a tire inflation compressor.
Step 2
Pay attention to the fan motor as well. If, during its operation, a creak or even a grinding sound is heard, then this indicates that the support bushings are worn out. It will serve for another season if it is disassembled and the internal plain bearings are properly lubricated.
Step 3
Check how the buttons, knobs and deflectors, with which you control the heater, work. They can stick or just break. This applies to both a simple stove and more modern climate control systems.
Step 4
Pay attention to the coolant. If your car engine takes a long time to warm up, the thermostat may need to be replaced. In severe frosts, you can install a muzzle - protection of the cooling radiator.
Step 5
In rare cases, the heater radiator itself may break down, and in this case, usually, the car is trusted by specialists who either repair it or replace it. You can repair the radiator yourself, however, for this you need to have the appropriate competence and experience. For example, in order to solder it, the soldering point needs to be properly heated - sometimes only a professional can do this.
