The carburetor is an important component of the fuel delivery system. Any contamination of it will one way or another affect the operation of your car's engine. After all, the operation of the engine mainly depends on the quality and quantity of the air-gasoline mixture. And if the carburetor is dirty, the mixture may be too “rich” or, conversely, too “poor”. You can professionally clean the carburetor, but it takes too long. Therefore, it is possible to clean it in "handicraft" conditions.

It is necessary

Container for carburetor, solvent, screwdriver, set of socket wrenches, instructions for repair and maintenance of your car

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to remove the car air filter cover.

Step 2

Then remove the upper part of the carburetor itself (according to the repair and maintenance instructions for your car). It is usually attached with five bolts.

Step 3

Next, remove the lower part of the carburetor. Four nuts hold it and the carburetor gasket.

Step 4

Both parts of the carburetor must be disassembled according to the instructions for your vehicle. Particular attention should be paid to the fact that all non-metallic parts must be removed from the carburetor.

Step 5

Further, in a container prepared in advance, it is necessary to pour a solvent purchased at any auto shop.

Step 6

Dip the main parts of the carburetor (non-metallic) into a container with a solvent, let the solvent fill all cavities of the carburetor and allow a hold time for about 30-60 minutes (depending on the severity of the contamination, so it can be longer).

Step 7

After that, it is necessary to get and dry all parts of the carburetor. It is also advisable to blow out holes and valves of the carburetor with compressed air or treat with a special cleaning aerosol.
