One of the ways to boost the engine, pursuing an increase in the power of the standard engine, is to install two carburetors. The procedure, if feasible, is at least incredibly complex in terms of technology. But it seems so only at first glance, upon superficial examination of the issue.
It is necessary
- - two suction manifolds from Oka,
- - two identical carburetors,
- - two air filter housings.

Step 1
The solution to this issue was greatly facilitated with the appearance on the domestic market of Oka cars, on which a half of the Zhiguli engine is installed. But to install two intake manifolds, you need an adapter plate, which is machined on a milling machine. Both manifolds are attached to the finished plate, and it is then mounted to the engine cylinder head.
Step 2
Further, two identical carburetors, jets, in which, it is desirable, to install the minimum holes, are installed on the twin intake manifold.
Step 3
At the next stage, a mechanism for synchronous control of the throttle valves of the carburetors is created: the levers of the damper drives are united by one bracket, which is activated by a thrust or cable of the accelerator pedal.
Step 4
The air damper control cables are combined in the same way.
Step 5
A tee is installed on the gas supply line, and both carburetors are powered from it.
Step 6
In the end, it remains to make the air filter housing. It can be made from two standard cases, cutting with a "grinder", and fitting, and then welding with carbon dioxide welding.

Equipping the engine with two carburetors, the owner turns his car into a real sports car.
