Injectors (nozzles) are a working element of modern fuel injection systems. During operation, the injectors become dirty due to resinous deposits, which are formed due to impurities in gasoline. Therefore, periodically the injector needs cleaning.
Instructions
Step 1
Fill the fuel tank with a cleaning additive. Observe the proportions: add about 0.3 liters of liquid for 60-80 liters of gasoline. After that, continue driving calmly, while the harmful deposits will dissolve on their own. This cleaning must be repeated every 3-5 thousand kilometers.
Step 2
For a heavily soiled injector, it is better to use a different method. Connect a special installation to it, which contains the flushing liquid. Do this with adapter fittings, excluding the fuel pump, gas tank and fuel lines from this circuit. Start the engine and let it run for about half an hour. The cleaning fluid under pressure enters the injectors, cleans them of impurities, which subsequently burn out in the engine cylinders.
Step 3
Remember that intensive flushing is harmful for heavily worn engines. Make sure that carbon deposits on the piston rings are not removed along with the dirt. This is fraught with reduced compression and problems with starting the engine. Check the quality of the flush for the CO level, which should be lower, for the stability of the engine at idle speed. If this cleaning method does not help, then remove the injector from the engine and clean it separately.
Step 4
Place it on a special stand that will simulate the operation of the injectors on the engine. Only here, instead of fuel, there will be a flushing liquid. Ensure that air bubbles form in the fluid in the fuel line. This process is called cavitation. This effectively cleans the nozzle and rinses the filter. After the end of the flushing, the injector performance is assessed, which is compared with that before the start of the procedure. Remember that if the performance of the injectors is different, then it is necessary to replace them.
