Even if the gasoline is of good quality, the fuel injection system will gradually get dirty. Therefore, it is recommended to clean the injector every 150-200 thousand kilometers. What can we say about the usual domestic gasoline of not the highest degree of purification. Depending on the degree of contamination, there are several ways to clean the injector.

Step 1
Use a cleaning additive as a preventive measure. One standard bottle is enough for 60-80 liters of gasoline, and it should be used every 3-4 thousand kilometers of a car's mileage. However, if the injector is heavily contaminated, the use of an additive can lead to the opposite effect, since the washed off dirt will get into the engine nozzles, which will require its dismantling and cleaning in other ways.
Step 2
Try to clean the injector without removing it from the engine. Purchase a special installation and flushing fluid. Using adapter fittings, connect the unit to the injector "line" of the engine, bypassing the gas tank, fuel pump and filter, as well as fuel lines.
Step 3
Run the engine for 30-45 minutes so that the flushing fluid supplied from the installation under a pressure of several atmospheres (according to the technical parameters of the machine) cleans the injectors.
Step 4
Determine the quality of flushing by running the engine at idle speed, reducing the amount of exhaust gases, etc. Usually, this cleaning method is sufficient. However, if the injectors are still heavily soiled, they will have to be removed from the engine and cleaned separately.
Step 5
Only if it is impossible to dismantle the injectors without removing a part of the attachment, they can be flushed without removing from the engine. After that, you will need to drive 10-15 kilometers in forced operation of the engine, and then change the oil, as well as the oil filter. But if the engine of your car is badly worn out, it is not recommended to wash them in an intensive mode.
Step 6
If the engine of your car is equipped with an injection system with mechanical fuel injection, clean it only by blowing it with compressed air, and if it is heavily soiled, replace the injectors.
Step 7
Contact the service. In the end, cleaning the injector on a special stand or in an ultrasonic bath will bring much more positive results. Give up the means, widespread in the ranks of motorists, such as soaking in diesel fuel, kerosene or acetone, since despite the positive effect of such "folk remedies", the further normal operation of the injector may in some cases be a big question.
