The UAZ Patriot off-road vehicle was developed specifically for off-road driving enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters. The updated UAZ Patriot differs from the previous UAZs in a modified body, comfortable interior, suspension, transmission and steering.

The interior of the Patriot's five-seater saloon has changed markedly. The headlining has become more solid and pleasant to the touch. The fit quality of the front bezel has been improved. There are comfortable ceiling handles over the doors. The gear lever is slightly smaller and more comfortable for the hand. In the trunk, the upholstery and shelf are completely changed. Also in the luggage compartment there is a lighting shade on the right side. The boot capacity has not changed and is 960 liters in normal condition and 2300 liters with the second row seats folded.

A new engine for the UAZ Patriot SUV was not invented. The car is still equipped with a gasoline or diesel engine. In the basic configuration, the UAZ Patriot has a gasoline four-cylinder engine with a volume of 2.7 liters. The maximum power is 128 hp. at 4600 rpm. The maximum speed is 150 km / h, so the Patriot cannot get rapid acceleration with such an engine.
Average fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer, is 11.5 liters at a speed of 90 km / h. In difficult road conditions and off-road, gasoline consumption can grow up to 20 liters per 100 km.
The displacement of the diesel engine is 2.2 liters, the maximum power is 113.5 horsepower. The maximum speed of a car with a diesel engine does not exceed 135 km / h. Compared to a gasoline engine, a diesel engine has less fuel consumption - no more than 9.5 liters per 100 km in the extra-urban cycle.
The Patriot is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The transfer case has been replaced. From now on, the car is equipped with a modern Korean Hyundai Dymos transfer case. The gear ratio has changed in the direction of increasing, and now is 2, 56. This has significantly improved cross-country ability. The new transfer case is virtually silent and is controlled by a joystick. The downside of the Korean transfer case is that if the engine stalls when the low gear is engaged, then it must take some time until the electronics work again.
The chassis of the Patriot in 2014 has remained practically unchanged - dependent spring suspension at the front and dependent structure with two springs at the rear. The changes affected the principle of operation of the handbrake: now it blocks the rear wheels, and not the propeller shaft. The braking system, as before, is a disc brakes with cylinders in front and drum mechanisms on the rear wheels. All vehicle modifications have power steering.

The 2014 UAZ Patriot with a gasoline engine is offered in three main trim levels: Classic, Comfort and Limited. The diesel version of the car is available in Comfort and Limited trim levels. The basic version is equipped with 16-inch stamped discs, athermal glass, central locking and full power accessories. The price for the UAZ Patriot starts at 569,990 rubles.
