Replacing the thermostat in the VAZ engine cooling system does not require special training from the master. Any car owner can independently cope with this procedure.
It is necessary
- Screwdriver,
- Silicone Grease,
- container for draining antifreeze.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work on replacing the thermostat in the VAZ engine cooling system, the car must be installed on a flat surface. If the coolant temperature is high, you must wait until the engine has cooled down.
Step 2
Then unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator and drain the coolant into a previously prepared container. Remember to remove the cap on the expansion tank. Then go to the right side of the engine compartment and loosen the three clamps securing the rubber pipes on the thermostat with a screwdriver.
Step 3
Remove the pipes from the thermostat. Remove the device itself as unnecessary, and lubricate the inner surface of the nozzles with a small amount of silicone grease. After completing this procedure, put the pipes on the new thermostat and securely tighten the clamps on them.
Step 4
Tighten the plug at the bottom of the radiator, fill the engine cooling system with antifreeze and start the engine. As the machine warms up, monitor the tightness of both the thermostat and the joints with the pipes.
