Step 1
First, disassemble the interior trim. Start by wrapping the torpedo with leather. Thoroughly treat the surface with refined Galosha gasoline for degreasing and sand it well with coarse sandpaper.

Break the surface of the torpedo into sections and place the appropriate marks, because its complex shape will not allow you to stick the leather in one piece, namely, on the sharp outer corners of the torpedo, mark the lines of connection of the skin flaps on the cover, which cannot be made as a whole. Use non-woven shreds to make a pattern.
Step 3
Place them on the surface along the relief of the torpedo. Non-woven fabric can be glued together with an iron or special glue from a spray can. Transfer the marks to the non-woven fabric and cut out the details. Then place the pattern on the skin and fix it with weights, as when working with the skin, the punctures from the pins will remain on the product.
Step 4
Then cut the flaps with special scissors, taking into account the distance on the fold of the skin when stitching. For sewing leather parts, you must use a professional sewing machine and appropriate thread. Before stitching, lay out the parts on the torpedo to check for dimensional accuracy. Begin stitching the skin flaps. Cut the seam allowance from the wrong side to the seam so that the leather is lowered along the hem for the fold. Glue the leather flap and sew with finishing stitches on both sides of the main seam.
Step 5
Cut off excess leather close to the seam, being careful not to damage the threads. As a result, you will get a neat seam without a step on the front side on the line of joining one part to another, which is often obtained due to the difference in the thickness of the leather and appears when the finished product is pulled and glued.
Step 6
When the cover is ready, pull it over the torpedo. Then prepare the cover for the sticker. To do this, coat it with special glue from the wrong side. One layer is partially absorbed into the skin, so apply another layer of glue to the degreased and sanded surface of the torpedo itself. When the glue dries a little, gently lay the cover on the torpedo without pressing. Before placing and pressing the leather, soften the glue slightly with a jet of hot air from a hair dryer. Be patient, as the leather will not fall easily in all places, sometimes it will be necessary to make an effort to pull it over the difficult terrain of the torpedo.
Step 7
Then roll the leather thoroughly with a roller to avoid blistering and compressing the skin. You just have to wait until it is completely dry and install the torpedo in place.
