When driving a car with a manual transmission, the clutch is the most problematic. Many find it difficult to adapt to the sequence of gearshifts and the manipulations that are associated with it. But if you learn how to operate the clutch correctly, you will be assured of competent driving.

Instructions

Step 1

The main role of the clutch is that when it is pressed, the engine and gearbox cease to interact. At the moment of braking, this manipulation, roughly speaking, disconnects the engine from the wheels. Improper operation of the clutch pedal can cause it to overheat.

Step 2

To start driving, you must squeeze the clutch and engage the first gear. Then press the gas pedal and at the same time depress the clutch pedal. All these manipulations should take place at the same time. If you release the gas slowly, then the foot on the clutch is in no hurry. If you want to start quickly, then all pedals are released quickly. But in all cases, the clutch pedal is not thrown. As soon as the car starts moving, hold your foot a little at the very end of the clutch and release completely only after driving a few meters.

Step 3

For the next gear change, you need to release the accelerator pedal, press the clutch and engage the required gear. After that, simply release the clutch and press the gas. If you step on the gas without releasing the clutch pedal, the car may jerk unpleasantly. This is a big mistake.

Step 4

When braking, you must press the clutch and brake at the same time. After the pedals have come to a complete stop, do not drop, but engage the neutral speed. If you release the clutch earlier, the car will stall. For quick braking while riding, do not place your left foot on the floor. It should rest on the heel and rest on the pedal.

Step 5

When driving slowly in traffic jams, many keep the clutch squeezed out so as not to include speeds back and forth. But in this mode, overheating occurs, and you can feel a sharp burning smell in the cabin. In a single case, this is not scary. But with constant neglect, the service life of the cable is noticeably reduced. And replacing the clutch on some foreign cars is expensive. The first signs of a system malfunction can be considered the inclusion of a gear not the first time and the characteristic growl when the clutch is released while driving.
