Many owners of cars with a carburetor engine in frosty weather are faced with the problem of starting the engine. There are various ways to deal with this situation and to start the car even in extreme cold.
It is necessary
- - 2 liter bottle of hot water, preferably boiling water
- - tow rope
- - 50-100 ml of gasoline from the gas tank
- - key for 10 (tubular or open-end)
- - battery charger
Instructions
Step 1
When leaving the house, fill a 2-liter bottle with hot water. Open the hood of the car. Pour boiling water from a bottle onto the engine intake manifold (it has a carburetor). It is required to achieve full heating of the manifold in order to improve the ignition of the fuel mixture supplied from the carburetor to the engine combustion chamber. Start the engine.
Step 2
Use towing. Ask the driver of the other vehicle to take you in tow. It is advisable to keep the towing speed at 15-25 km / h. In this case, you need to turn on the ignition of the car, turn on the first or second gear and, releasing the clutch pedal, for about 5-7 seconds, achieve the engine start. Remember to turn on the hazard warning lights when towing your vehicle.
Step 3
Prepare gasoline in a half-liter bottle. Open the hood of the car. Using a 10 key, remove the cover of the air filter box. A view of the carburetor will open. Add approximately 20-40 ml of gasoline directly to the carburetor air intakes. Start the engine. Repeat as necessary. Replace the air box cover after starting the engine.
Step 4
Remove the battery from the vehicle before leaving the vehicle in cold weather. At home, charge it with the charger as instructed in the user manual. Install the battery to the vehicle. Start the engine. When trying to start the car with the ignition key, each starter activation should not exceed 5 seconds, and should be done with the clutch pedal depressed.
