The Gazelle car is quite reliable from the point of view of operation in the conditions of Russian roads. Only when starting the car in very cold weather, the engine starts to be capricious. To get rid of starting problems, it is worth following the recommendations of experienced motorists who have come up with some tricks to help cope with a naughty engine.

Step 1
Make sure the battery is working properly. It is from this unit that it will depend on how effectively the starter will be able to start the engine. If you have to operate the Gazelle in harsh conditions, install a more powerful battery in advance and replace it with a new one in time. The optimum battery life is no more than three years.
Step 2
In very cold temperatures, try to avoid long breaks between rides. When finishing work in the evening, warm up the car thoroughly before leaving. It is also recommended to start the Gazelle on a day off and make at least a short trip. This way the car will start more confidently when the need arises.
Step 3
Use only high-quality synthetic or semi-synthetic oil for the engine, which does not thicken too much in severe frosts. Make sure that there is always at least half of the fuel tank. This will solve the condensation problem.
Step 4
If the engine does not start immediately in cold weather, turn on and off the clutch two or three times, simultaneously changing gears. This procedure will warm up the oil in the transmission.
Step 5
Turn off all devices capable of consuming energy so necessary to start the engine: radio tape recorder, fan, glass heaters. Before starting, turn the high beam on and off several times to prepare the battery for the upcoming load.
Step 6
Put the ignition key in the working position and by all means wait until all indicators of control devices go out. Depress the clutch and start the starter for ten seconds. When the engine starts, do not release the clutch immediately, wait until the engine speed becomes stable. Otherwise, the machine can quickly stall.
Step 7
If the engine does not start on the first try, wait a few minutes. Rest the battery and repeat the starting steps. If the effect does not follow, try removing the battery and transferring it to a warm room for a while.
