Nothing can transform the interior look of a car like an upholstery, but it is not always possible to afford such an expensive pleasure. If you want to get by with "little blood", pull the seats yourself, without contacting a car service.

Necessary

  • Material for covers,
  • scissors,
  • glue in cans,
  • foam rubber,
  • plastic clamps.
  • hairdryer,
  • iron,
  • detergents for cleaning upholstery.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose the material you want to cover the interior with. Genuine leather is ideal for your purposes - it looks great, retains its appearance for a long time, but is very expensive. Leatherette is a more practical solution. The seats are also covered with flock, velor, suede. The combination of several colors will give the seats an exclusive look.

Step 2

Pull the seat out of the passenger compartment. Remove old covers. They consist of two parts: a backrest cover and a seat cover. They can be attached to pillows in a variety of ways.

Step 3

The covers need to be ripped open, they will serve you as patterns for cutting new ones. Trace them along the contour with a marker. If the material has a fleecy structure, pay attention to the fact that the pile lies to one side, otherwise the seats will turn out to be of a different shade.

Step 4

Spray the glue from a can on the foam rubber and glue the covers to it. You cannot smear foam rubber with a brush. It won't get enough glue to take the shape you want.

Step 5

Sew the parts of the covers, observing the markings. Excess foam should be trimmed around the edges. Press the divorced spreads of the material against the foam rubber and sew with a double finishing seam. Turn the covers right out.

Step 6

Using plastic clips, attach the covers straightened on the seat cushion to the frame through the holes specially provided for this. The edges of the cover are pulled over the frame.

Step 7

Dry the upholstery with a hairdryer and iron with an iron to avoid creasing the seat.

Step 8

Clean the finished seats with special detergents and put the seat back into the interior. Be careful and secure all parts when installing the chair.
