According to the new rules, when registering a vehicle, as well as undergoing a technical inspection procedure, the traffic police inspector does not reconcile the vehicle's engine number with the data specified in the TCP.
Instructions
Step 1
Previously, the procedure for replacing an engine on a vehicle was very time consuming, not only in terms of time, but also in terms of costs. And it's good if the ICE was replaced with an engine of the same model (only its number was changed). In this case, a minimum set of documents was submitted to the registration department of the traffic police. But if, when replacing the engine, the model of the number unit also changed, in this case the car owner had to run around: get an opinion from NAMI (Research Automobile and Automotive Institute) about the possibility of making changes to the design of the car, a certificate of conformity (SSKTS), undergo a technical inspection, get a diagnostic card, fill out an application-declaration, etc. etc.
Step 2
What to do now if your car has undergone a major engine replacement repair? Whether the replacement of the internal combustion engine is now an interference in the design of the vehicle, and whether it is necessary to perform any registration actions with respect to the car, will help to find out the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation of November 24, 2008 N 1001 "On the procedure for registering vehicles" (https://base.consultant.ru / cons / cgi / online.cgi? req = doc; base = LAW; n = 121691)
Step 3
If the engine has been replaced with a similar one (of the same model), there is no need to make changes to the vehicle passport, because PTS is not a registration document, and the data on the engine number are no longer entered into the registration certificate. It turns out that the internal combustion engine is now an ordinary spare part, not a numbered unit. But if you installed a non-native engine or an engine with increased power on the car, then this is regarded by the traffic police as an interference with the design of the car. And before registering such a replacement, you must obtain prior authorization to make such changes. Otherwise, you may be brought to administrative responsibility for this.
