Lanos is truly a people's car. Cheap, practical, reliable, but the package bundle is quite rich. The fuel system is injector, there is an electric pump in the tank, which creates pressure in the rail in front of the injectors.

One of the popular models is the Chevrolet Lanos. This is an American car brand, only the prototype of this model was the Daewoo Lanos car originally from Korea. Ease of maintenance, high reliability, rich equipment (when compared with the Russian car industry), unpretentiousness, rather low cost of both the car itself and spare parts, played a decisive role. As a result, this model has become a kind of people's car on the territory of Russia and Ukraine.

The Lanos fuel system is not much different in design from modern Russian cars. The already familiar injector ensures stable engine operation in all modes. Of course, the power of the engine increases significantly, while the consumption of gasoline decreases. The engine is very economical, and this trait can be attributed to the advantages that affect the choice of motorists.

Fuel system composition

A standard injection system, the heart of which is four injectors, which are solenoid valves. The operation of the injectors is carried out using the control unit, which contains a special firmware. Firmware is a program that monitors a lot of data about the operation of the engine, on the basis of which the systems operate. To change the engine power, it is enough to change the opening time of the injectors. Accordingly, fuel consumption will also change.

The fuel rail, to which the injectors are connected, is under a certain pressure when the engine is running. This pressure is generated by an electric fuel pump installed directly in the vehicle's fuel tank. True, there is a pressure regulator between the rail and the fuel line. If it were not for it, the pressure in the ramp would constantly change, and due to the regulator, it remains constant.

Removing the fuel pump

The pump is removed in the following cases:

• breakdown of the float level sensor;

• clogging of the grid of the fuel pump;

• breakdown of the fuel pump;

• periodic replacement of the fuel filter.

The pump is located under the rear seat. Before carrying out work, it is necessary to de-energize it by removing the fuse and start the engine. This will relieve pressure in the fuel system. After we disconnect the negative terminal from the battery (for greater reliability), proceed to the removal.

First, remove the wire plug. Neatly, on the top of it there are yellow clips, squeezing which, it comes out with ease. The clips also hold the fuel pipes. Secondly, the electric pump is fixed to the tank with a retaining ring, which must be turned counterclockwise to remove. When it is removed, you can pull out the gasoline pump, only immediately you need to drain the gasoline from it. And then carry out a complete replacement or change the filter element. The assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
