There are many pollutants in almost any diesel fuel, but water is the most problematic. Filter separators, which are designed to separate fuel from another liquid, do not always work properly, so other cleaning methods have to be used.
Instructions
Step 1
The service life of a car depends on the quality of the fuel and its purity. The main pollutants of the fuel system are organic matter, inorganic elements and water. Particularly low-quality fuel contains asphaltenes, which leave black deposits on the filter and quickly disable it. Water in fuel, on the other hand, causes corrosion of the fuel supply systems in the vehicle and rust. In winter, water freezes at the farthest point in the system and therefore the engine cannot start. Microorganisms that feed on fuel can multiply in the water. Because of this, the fuel filter quickly clogs in the warm season.
Step 2
The settling method works well for cleaning. Place diesel fuel in a tank or canister and the amount of mechanical particles will decrease within 25 days.
Step 3
To filter large volumes of fuel, centrifugal purifiers are used, which are quite large installations that purify up to 3 tons of fuel per hour. The centrifuge removes not only mechanical elements from the diesel engine, but also water.
Step 4
To filter diesel fuel in a car, separators are used, which are installed in the fuel system and purify fuel regardless of the amount of harmful elements. There are mechanical and chemical separators, which differ in the principle of operation. Separators separate the water and deposit it at the bottom of the purifier. In more expensive models, a special Aquacon paper layer is installed, which retains water in very large quantities.
Step 5
Separators are installed not only on cars, but also at enterprises where the volume of fuel consumption reaches large volumes (more than 150 tons per month). Often, the fuel is cleaned by transferring it from the tanker to the fuel storage tank.
