Many owners of VAZ cars are engaged in tuning their iron horses. This is due to the low cost of spare parts and the simple design of the vehicle. Many people like straight and sleek doors that have no handles or a lock. To make such a door on a VAZ, you need to weld the handles.
Necessary
- - welding machine;
- - a piece of iron of medium thickness;
- - degreaser;
- - building hair dryer;

- - cotton gloves.
Instructions
Step 1
Drive the car into the garage and apply the parking brake. For convenience, dismantle the door by carefully disconnecting the connectors to the speakers and control buttons for the central lock and power windows. Unscrew the bolts holding the hinges. It is best to do this together, so that the second person constantly holds the door, protecting it from falling.
Step 2
Dismantle the old door handle. Remove the casing that is attached to the plastic caps. They break easily, so it is better to buy several dozen in advance, so that later you do not run to the store. Through the technical holes in the door, remove the cable that is connected to the door handle. Loosen its tension.
Step 3
Unscrew the bolts and remove the handle. You can also remove the lock if you want to get rid of all the technical holes. Find a piece of iron of medium thickness. It is needed to make a patch in place of the hole for the handle. It is best to first make a rough cut out of cardboard in order to experimentally calculate the size of the patch.
Step 4
Make a patch according to the pattern made. Try it on. There should be no gaps between the body and the patch. Spot weld the patch all the way around. You can also weld the patch with a seam, but then it will be more difficult to hide it. Let the metal cool after welding.
Step 5
Grind the weld spot carefully. It is necessary to align the seam as much as possible with the rest of the door surface. Do not leave any unevenness! The putty will not be able to hide them. Prepare the door for painting.
Step 6
Remove the old paint coat. To do this, use a construction hair dryer or a special chemical liquid. Degrease the door and apply the first coat of primer. It should be as thin as possible. Degrease the surface again and apply a second coat.
Step 7
Check the smoothness of the surface. Apply the first coat of paint to the door surface. This layer will be developing. It will show all poorly primed spots, if any. Correct the blemishes and apply a second coat of paint after degreasing. Set the door aside to dry.
Step 8
Think over the mechanism of the lock in advance. We'll have to adapt the old one so that the doors can be opened with a button on the alarm key fob or by lightly pressing on the door body. Install the mechanism inside the dry door. Screw the door hinges to the body and carefully adjust the clearances. Reinstall the trim and reconnect the power window and speaker wires.
