The stove (heater) in the car plays a huge role, especially in the cold season. In case of serious malfunctions, it is necessary to remove the stove and install a new one. How to do this for the Audi 100?
Instructions
Step 1
Stop the engine and be sure to wait for it to cool down. Open the hood of the car and fix its position. After that, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the storage battery and drain the coolant from the system.
Step 2
Open the heater tap and loosen the clamp that secures the radiator inlet hose to the pipe. Then disconnect the radiator and heater hoses. Remove the plug that closes the expansion tank and drain the coolant into a container prepared in advance for this.
Step 3
Disconnect the wiper arms and the cover that is installed on the plenum chamber. Disconnect multiple cables. The first one goes to the air duct flap lever, which is responsible for air supply. The next one is located at the lever of the damper intended for the heater radiator, and the last cable is located under the dashboard, it departs from the lower air duct damper.
Step 4
Disconnect all electrical connectors and pads with wires that fit the heater. Remove all air ducts connected to the car's heater. Using a screwdriver, slightly loosen the clamps, and then disconnect the hoses that fit the radiator. Then carefully remove the heater and check the condition of the components.
Step 5
After installing the new part, reassemble in the reverse order. Do not forget to fill the coolant tank up to the minimum mark. Then turn on the ignition and let the engine idle. Look at the liquid level - it will go down. Top up until it assumes a stable position. Screw the cap back on and turn off the engine, after which it cools down, check the fluid level again. Add antifreeze again if necessary.
