Instructions

Step 1

Adjust the headlights of your car yourself if there is no car service with special equipment in your area or you cannot go there for some reason. The tuning should start by checking the condition of the suspension parts. Pay attention to the pressure in the tires of the wheels, the difference in their dimensions. Look at the condition of the suspension springs and the distribution of the load in the body of the car, since all malfunctions that can be detected during such an inspection directly affect the direction of the light beam itself.

Step 2

Load the driver's seat with approximately 80 kilograms of ballast and fill the gas tank halfway. And then check the condition of the lamps in the headlights. If you find bulbs with darkened bulbs, they will need to be replaced.

Step 3

Select a level vertical wall for the adjustment, in front of which there should be at least eight meters of horizontal section of the roadway. In order to adjust the headlights as clearly as possible, you will need to hang a screen on the wall, which you can make yourself.

Step 4

You will need to drive your car close to the wall and mark the center of the car on the wall and the center axis of each headlight. Then drive back seven and a half meters and connect the center points of the headlights with a horizontal line on the wall, and then draw vertical lines through them. Then, 7.5 cm below, draw a line parallel to the horizontal line drawn through the centers of the headlights. Then turn on the "low beam" and cover the left headlight with cardboard.

Step 5

Using the adjusting screws, adjust the right headlight so that the top of the beam is aligned with the bottom line on the screen. Then adjust the left headlight in the same way. Having followed all the recommendations correctly, you will no longer create problems for either road users or yourself. On vehicles with separate high and low beam headlights, the adjustment is made individually for all 4 headlights.
