Modern models of snowmobiles are quite expensive, so a converted snowmobile from a motorcycle is an excellent solution to save money. In addition, a snowmobile is a very bulky thing and takes up a lot of space in the garage. And this problem will also be solved by a motorcycle, which will help out both in summer and in winter.
Necessary
- - motorbike;
- - a ski for a snowmobile;
- - caterpillar track;
- - lugs;
- - protective casing;
- - trunk;
- - stretch marks and a shock absorber rod.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the motorcycle steering wheel and replace it with an articulated snowmobile ski. For the ski to be mobile and controllable, you must connect the front of the ski to the steering fork of the motorcycle. The back of the ski must be attached to the frame.
Step 2
The front wheel that you removed must be installed behind the rear wheel and connected to the frame using a shock absorber rod and guy wires. Thus, there are no unnecessary parts when transforming a motorcycle into a snowmobile.
Step 3
Now you can put the track on the resulting wheel structure. The tape must run exactly along the rims of the wheels. The lugs of the belt can be made of aluminum and measure approximately 25 x 25 mm. The lugs allow the snowmobile to have good grip on snow and ice. Without them, it will be almost impossible to brake on slippery roads and at high speeds.
Step 4
The top of the track must be covered with a special box-type casing. This design will protect the driver from snow trapping on the snowmobile tracks.
Step 5
A roof rack can be attached to the cover. The trunk should not be very large so as not to get in the way of the snowmobile operator's back.
