Instructions

Step 1

Before starting work on the bumper, be sure to wash it well. After that, proceed to remove the old paint and putty. A drill with a wire brush works well for this purpose. You can remove paint and putty quickly and easily. Be sure to use personal respiratory protection. There will be quite a lot of dust during operation. Remove all paint that is chipped or bumpy. Take the time to remove all chips. Otherwise, they will be very noticeable after the final painting.

Step 2

Next, proceed to soldering the bumper. First, solder all cracks and chips. Be sure to melt the edges of the cleavage. If necessary, add plastics from the "donor". After you have filled in the gap, reinforce it with an aluminum mesh. Fuse it in from the inside of the bumper. Do this in such a way that the mesh is almost invisible under the plastic. Solder the cracks on both sides of the bumper, and the mesh only from the inside.

Step 3

In places where there are no pieces of plastic, restore them. To do this, cut out pieces of the "donor" to the desired size. Attach a piece of cardboard to the missing place. Then just circle the shape you want. Cut out the template from the mold and transfer it to the "donor" plastic. Then, using metal scissors, cut out the desired piece and solder it to the bumper. It remains only to strengthen it with a mesh.

Step 4

After the bumper is sealed, seal it well. It must be perfectly flat before painting. Next, select the desired color. The final step is painting the bumper.

Step 5

Also, a problem may arise with body kits. Use epoxy to glue the body kits. The fact is that the bumper is completely made of plastic, and the body kit is made of fiberglass, so it is not possible to solder these two parts. Therefore, it is best to purchase epoxy beforehand.
