Fuel filter, 10 socket wrench, screwdriver

Instructions

Step 1

First, find a place where you can perform this operation - any garage with a pit or an overpass will do. You need access to the underside of the car as the fuel filter is located under the bottom of the vehicle, specifically in front of the gas tank. Prepare the necessary tool - a socket wrench with a 10 head, without this device it will not be possible to replace the fuel filter.

Step 2

In order to remove the filter that has exhausted its reserve, you must first release the pressure in the fuel system of the car, because when disassembling, there must be no gasoline leakage. To relieve pressure, in the fuse box, which is on the right under the hood, find the fuse marked Ef 18. It is this fuse that is responsible for the operation of the gas pump, with which pressure is created in the system, then with plastic tweezers, according to the manufacturer's idea it is located nearby, remove Ef 18 from the slot.

Step 3

Turn on the ignition, start the car engine and wait for it to stop running out of fuel. When you turn the starter on again for 3 seconds, the pressure will be released.

Step 4

Now you can proceed directly to the removal of the fuel filter. First, remove the terminal of the ground wire from the terminal on the filter. Then, with the head of a key "10", unscrew the retaining clamp bolt and remove the protective casing. Next, disconnect the white tip of the tube, while using a screwdriver, move the lock lever and remove the tip from the filter tube. Do the same with the black tip, which is located on the opposite side. When you disconnect both tips, remove the old fuel filter from the clamp.

Step 5

To install a new filter, install it in the retaining clip in the place where the old filter was located, cover with a protective cover. To fix the fuel filter, tighten the clamp securely with the bolt “10”.

Step 6

Re-install the filter in the reverse order - slide the ground wire terminal onto the filter terminal. After the performed procedure, pull the tips of the fuel line pipes onto the ends of the fuel filter tubes, be sure to click the clips.

Step 7

After completing the installation, make sure that there is no gas leakage at the place of the joints of the pipes of the fuel filter and the gas line. To be sure that you have connected the pipes correctly, turn on the starter to the second position, then the gas pump will start and the pressure in the fuel system will increase. At this time, carefully inspect the pipe joints for fuel leaks.
