Parallel parking is one of the most important and necessary maneuvers on a car, which any driver should be able to perform. If you remember the sequence of actions, this maneuver will not cause any trouble.
Instructions
Step 1
While taking an exam at a driving school, you performed such an exercise on a special site. In real conditions, the principle of action is the same, only instead of racks, real cars are waiting for you in the city, which are in front of and behind you. In such conditions, it is necessary to park quickly and clearly enough to avoid collisions and have time to get a good spot.
Step 2
Place your car on the same level with the adjacent car. The distance from the edge of the body must be at least half a meter, otherwise, when moving backwards, you risk catching someone else's car. Shift into reverse gear and start driving. Try to take your time and go in first gear, be ready to step on the brake pedal at any time.
Step 3
Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and carefully watch the movement of your vehicle. Continue in reverse in this position until you see in the left rear-view mirror the rightmost point of the car body, which is behind. If there is no reference point in the form of a car behind, then choose this moment yourself, focusing on the vestibular apparatus.
Step 4
After that, set the wheels to a straight position by turning the steering wheel to the left a few turns. Roll back slowly, and when you see that the left rear fender of your car has passed the left corner of the vehicle in front, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. Now move all your attention back to avoid crashing into a vehicle or fence behind.
Step 5
Having approached close, brake smoothly and leave the wheels in the same position, turned to the left. This will allow you to carry out the exit from the occupied place without any problems in the future. You can also set the wheels straight and drive slightly forward. Remember that the entire driving process must be carried out at minimum speed and be extremely careful.
