Step 1
Better to start with … a toy car with spinning wheels. For what? You need to understand in which direction the wheels turn when you turn the steering wheel and what happens to the car body. All problems with all types of parking come from a lack of understanding in which direction to turn the steering wheel. Take a toy car and start simulating driving up to the curb. Please note that when you start to twist the steering wheel while reversing, say, to the left, the car does not immediately start making a left turn. First, it makes a half-turn from right to left - this is how the wheels begin to work. Therefore, any parallel parking must be done with this geometry in mind.
Step 2
If you park between two cars, then before starting the maneuver, you must stop your car at the level of the rear bumper of the car in front. And try to put the car as close as possible. So it will be easier to "drive" the car into the resulting pocket. Remember to keep an eye on the hood of your vehicle when performing this maneuver. He maneuvers, and since you are standing close to another car, you can hook it while driving.
Step 3
If you park your car near the curb, remember to keep an eye on it. Not a car can get pretty serious scratches. If you can't see the curb in the mirror, don't be too lazy to open the door and see how close you are to it. Or, while parking, you can lower the mirrors so that the curb and part of the road are visible.
Step 4
The success of parallel parking depends on correct steering. Remember: if you park on the right side, first turn the steering wheel to the right to drive part of the body, and then to the left to align the car. If you park on the left side, then, accordingly, first turn the steering wheel to the left, drive part of the body a few centimeters before the curb, and then twist the steering wheel to the right, thereby leveling the position of the car.
