The automatic gearbox is equipped with an autonomous lubrication system independent of the engine lubrication system. If the volume of oil poured into the automatic transmission decreases below the critical level, its failure is inevitable. Therefore, the check of the grease level in the automatic transmission must be carried out daily.

Instructions

Step 1

Unlike the engine, the lubrication level in the automatic transmission is checked exclusively in a warm state.

Therefore, after warming up the power plant, we recall that in this case the car should be placed on a level platform with the parking brake tightened, the selector lever moves several times in all positions. After that, it is transferred to the "P" (parking) position, but the engine does not stop and the hood opens.

Step 2

With the engine running in idle mode, the automatic transmission probe is removed, which is wiped, inserted back to the end and pulled out again. If the actual oil level is between two marks, then this is within the normal range. But if it is lower, then it is necessary to top up it and check the tightness of the automatic transmission case.

Step 3

A little more about the marks on the automatic transmission dipstick. The "COLD" mark indicates what the level of lubrication in the automatic transmission should be if the car is not warmed up enough, was not in motion, and the selector lever did not move through the positions. That is, it indicates the level of relatively cold oil. The "HOT" mark indicates what the level of lubrication in the automatic transmission should be if the car has run shortly before the measurement and the oil in the box is warmed up to operating temperature.
